Distribution
South America: found in Venezuela and Colombia.
Taxonomy
Subspecies[1]
Four subspecies are recognized:
- O. g. cyanolaemus:
- Santa Marta Mountains (north-eastern Colombia)
- O. g. lindenii:
- Andes of north-western Venezuela (Mérida and Trujillo)
- O. g. guerinii:
- Páramo of eastern Andes of Colombia (south to Cundinamarca)
- O. g. stuebelii:
- Central Andes of Colombia (Volcán de Ruiz)
Habitat
High-altitude grassland.
