Identification
Distribution
China, India, Myanmar, and Nepal.
Taxonomy
Two subspecies accepted:
- C. r. rhodopeplus in the Himalayas from Garhwal to Nepal and Sikkim
- C. r. verreauxii in southwest China (extreme southeast Tibet to northern Yunnan), winters in Burma
verreauxii is sometimes split as Sharpe's Rosefinch.
Habitat
High altitude shrubland.
