Distribution
South America: east of the Andes from western Amazonian Brazil and northern Bolivia to tropical Peru, and southern Colombia
Taxonomy
Hypocnemis peruviana has two subspecies:[1]
- H. p. peruviana
- H. p. saturata
Habitat
Rainforest borders and secondary woodland often near water or marshes.
Behaviour
Diet
It gleans for insects in foliage and often picks its prey from the underside of leaves.
Breeding
They are monogamous. Both adults share the incubation of the 2 eggs and subsequent care of the young.
