North-eastern Asia; winters in the Philippines and Indonesia

Has been considered conspecific with Ryukyu Minivet.

The diet includes insects.
Breeding
Four to seven eggs are laid and incubated for 17 to 18 days.
Vocalisation
The call is a high-pitched, metallic trill.
