Identification

18.5-20 cm
Male

  • Grey upperparts
  • Black cap
  • White forehead
  • Whitish below
  • White band across the flight-feathers
  • Black bill and feet

Female:

  • Grey cap
  • Black band between bill and eye with a narrow white band above it

Distribution

North-eastern Asia; winters in the Philippines and Indonesia

Monotypic[1]

Has been considered conspecific with Ryukyu Minivet.
