South America: found in Colombia, Guianas, Peru, Brazil and Paraguay
Taxonomy
Subspecies[1]
The subspecies are divided into two groups: the cayana group found in Venezuela and Colombia, and the flava group found in south and east Brazil. There are 7 subspecies:
- T. c. fulvescens:
- Eastern Andes of Colombia
- T. c. cayana:
- T. c. huberi:
- North-eastern Brazil (Ilha Marajó region of Pará)
- T. c. flava:
- North-eastern Brazil (Maranhão and northern Goiás to extreme southern Bahia)
- T. c. sincipitalis:
- Central Brazil (Goiás)
- T. c. margaritae:
- Central Brazil (Mato Grosso)
- T. c. chloroptera:
Habitat
Savannas, gallery woodland and forest borders.
