- Taeniotriccus andrei
Identification
12-13cm. Rufous chestnut head and throat, black crest, yellow on the base of the flight feathers which is visible at rest. The male has a broad band of black across the chest.
Distribution
Brazil, Suriname, and Venezuela.
Taxonomy
There are 2 subspecies:
- T. a. andrei
- T. a. klagesi
Habitat
Moist lowland forests; dense, viny understorey of humid forest particularly near rivers or, near the coast, in mangroves.
Behaviour
The diet includes insects.
