Description
This genus contains almost 30 medium-sized Babblers from SE-Asia. They have in common:
- Relatively short, rounded wings
- Wings longer than tail
- Strong legs
- Stiff forehead feathers
- Medium-length straight bill
- Oval nares
Taxonomy
Stachyris is a genus in the Family Timaliidae.
Some species from the Philippines are sometimes placed in genus Sterrhoptilus or Zosterornis.
