North-western Colombia (lower Sinú River Valley).[1]
Taxonomy
Monotypic.
Recognised as a separate species by Dickinson[3], but regarded a subspecies of Painted Parakeet P. picta by Clements[2].
The taxonomy of the Painted Parakeet complex is uncertain.[1]
