Identification

21-24cm. Olive-brown upper and lowerparts, bright yellow belly and lower breast, yellow shoulder patch, long, thin, black bill.

Distribution

South Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay.

Taxonomy

Monotypic.

Habitat

Wetlands, grassland and marshes.

Behaviour

The diet includes invertebrates and seeds.

The female builds the nest in vegetation in marshes; 4-5 eggs are laid.
