Identification

Distribution

Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

Two subspecies are recognized, leucogaster, and bahiae. Plain-bellied Emerald is sometimes placed in genus Agyrtria.

Habitat

Subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and heavily degraded former forest.
