Bias flammulatus

Identification

Male - black head, back and tail, white underparts.
Female - brown back, grey/brown head and posterior neck and white underparts with brown stripes.

Eastern Africa: Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania
African Islands: Gulf of Guinea Islands, Bioko (Fernando Po)

Taxonomy

Megabyas flammulatus has two subspecies:1

  • M. f. flammulatus
  • M. f. aequatorialis

Habitat

Dry and moist lowland forests.

Behaviour

Has a habit of wagging it's tail from side to side when perched

Diet

The diet includes insects.
