Taxonomy

Subspecies[1]

There are 4 subspecies:

  • R. m. macronyx:
  • R. m. neglectus:
  • R. m. nigricans:
  • R. m. ssaposhnikowi:
  • South-eastern Kazakstan (region of lakes Balkhash, Sasykkol and Alakol)

Macronyx is considered a subspecies of Eurasian Penduline-Tit by some authorities[2]
