Genus: Diphyllodes
Description
Two species of Bird-of-Paradise from New Guinea.
The males are very colourful birds and their central pair of tail feathers are modified into recurved wires.
Females lack this elongated central pair of tail feathers, they are mostly brown and have barred underparts.
Taxonomy
Diphyllodes is a genus in the family Paradisaeidae.
Most sources place them in Cicinnurus and the Opus follows.
