- Tangara vitriolina
Identification
Small (14cm, 5.5in.) tanager, one of the least brightly colored of the Tangara, of which it is usually the only member of that genus in its habitat. Shares most other characteristics, including lack of sexual dimorphism. The greenish color will look bluish in some angles of light.
Distribution
Andean regions of Colombia and north-western Ecuador
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Habitat
Drier areas in valleys and intermontane areas.
Behaviour
Frugivorus. Forages alone, or in pairs.
