13.5–14 cm. Rusty brown breast and cheeks, long, sharply defined white eyebrow, rich brown back.

Western China.

This is a monotypic species.

Mountain forests of Berberis, Rhamnus, Rhododendron, and Salix.

It nests on the ground in rock crevices or old rodent burrows.
