Identification

- Chestnut upperback
- White underparts
- Dark grey flight feathers and tail
- White face
- Grey crown
- Wide chestnut breast band
- Rufous blotches on flanks
- Short black bill
Distribution
Elevated gibber plains of central South Australia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Dry shrubland, stony hills and plains.
Behaviour
It builds a globe shaped nest with a side-entrance, from dead twigs, lined with wool and feathers.
