Identification
Distribution
Central and South America: found only in Panama and Colombia.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized[1]:
- C.m. maculicoronatus:
- Western Panama (Veraguas) east to Canal Zone)
- C.m. rubrilateralis:
- Eastern Panama to north-western Colombia (east to Antioquia and south to Valle)
Two additional subspecies pirrensis and melas are not generally recognised[2].
Habitat
Humid forest.
