Distribution
Asia: found in China, Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas and Bhutan.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Clements recognizes these subspecies[1]:
- P. r. muraria:
- Himalayas of northern Pakistan to Ladak, and presumably Xinjiang
- P. r. rubeculoides:
- P. r. fusca:
- Mountains of central China
Habitat
A high alpine species observed at heights around 4000 to 4500 meters.
