Distribution

Endemic to Raso Island, Cape Verde Islands.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Diet

Diet includes insect larvae, which are obtained by digging in the ground, bulbs of the nutsedge, grass seeds, and insects such as butterflies, moths and grasshoppers.

Breeding

The clutch consists of 1-3 eggs which are laid after the rains. They are incubated for about 15 days.
