Distribution
Africa:
Western Africa: Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo
Eastern Africa: Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, north-western Tanzania
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1]. Sometimes considered to be a subspecies of Crimson-breasted Gonolek[1].
Habitat
Semi-arid bush and acacia woodland, dry savanna, shrubland, and seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland.
Behaviour
A common species found in pairs or family groups.
Vocalisation
Loud wheeoo whistle (male), followed by harsh quurr (female).
