- Olive brown back
- Pale tipped tail
- Yellow underparts
- Grey head
- Pale lemon throat
- Dark eye stripe
- Black legs and feet
- Straight black bill
Male has an orange crest which is usually concealed
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
The scientific name has been spelled rixosus in the past.
