Identification
12–14 cm (4¾-5½ in)
- Grey crown, nape and side of head
- Olive green upperparts
- White throat and breast
- Yellow belly
- Long graduated tail

Distribution
Asia: found in China, Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan, India, eastern and western Himalayas, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Hong Kong
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Malay Peninsula, Brunei, Singapore, Borneo, Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra and Java.

Habitat
Low bushes and tall grasses, riverine floodplains, reeds and sedges, marshes, canals, scrubland and paddyfields.
Behaviour
Breeding
An untidy ball nest is built at the bottom of tall grass. Grass and leaves are tied around the stems. The clutch consists of 3-4 reddish eggs.
Diet
The diet includes insects, small flies, crickets and ants etc.
