Identification

- Slightly hooked bill
- Rictal bristles
Distribution
South America: found in South-eastern Peru (southern Ucayali and southern Madre de Dios)[1], [3], [4]. South-western Brazil [3]. Possibly also present in Bolivia [4]
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Moist lowland forests, especially those which are seasonally flooded along lakes and rivers.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of fruit which is gathered in flight; they also eat insects and winged ants.
Breeding
They build a very small nest from plant fibres.
