- Mount Cameroon
- B. l. manengubae
- Mt. Manenguba (southwestern Cameroon)
- B. l. lopezi:
- Bioko (Gulf of Guinea)
- B. l. barakae: *

- B. l. usambarae:
- Southern Kenya (Taita Hills) to south-western Tanzania, northern Malawi, northern Mozambique
- B. l. ufipae:
- B. l. granti:
- Malawi (south of Nyika) to northern Mozambique (Mount Chiperone)
An additional subspecies manengubae is not generally recognised[1].
The scientific name is also spelled lopesi.
