Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela Peru and Bolivia

- Subtropical eastern Peru (Junín and Cuzco) and western Bolivia
Habitat
Moist montane evergreen forests, especially where there is bamboo.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of invertebrates, with the possible addition of some vertebrates. They usually forage alone, though may, occasionally, join mixed species flocks.
Breeding
They nest in a chamber at the end of a tunnel, up to 1 m long.
