- Grey crown and nape, with faint darker streaks
- Grey face sides
- White supraloral stripe
- Broken eye ring
Distribution
Central plateau of Mexico (Puebla to Oaxaca).
Taxonomy
Was formerly placed in genus Aimophila.
Habitat
Semi-open scub, thickets, grassy clearings and thorn forests.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of seeds, insects and spiders, also some fruits.
Breeding
They construct a cup nest from dry grass and twigs. They line it with fine grass and hair.
