Identification

Size 20 - 24cm (7¾-9½)
Blackish upperparts, narrow white streak on wings, reddish maroon rump, black breast band separating reddish maroon throat patch and underparts together with blue maxilla and yellow mandible diagnostic.
Juvenile -Throat and breast grey-brown. From juvenile Banded Broadbill by lack of yellow on upperparts.
