Identification

22 cm

  • Mainly black with large white spots
  • Rump and flanks chestnut
  • Forehead, face, throat and upper breast rufous
  • Hindclaw very long and straight
  • Bill elevated at base

Distribution

Local along Andes from Venezuela south to northern Peru.
