Identification

Length 12 cm. Dark grey above. White below. Relatively short tail for an Apalis.

Distribution

Tropical Africa: Nigeria to Uganda, Tanzania and Angola.

Taxonomy

Apalis rufogularis has seven subspecies:[2]

  • A. r. sanderi
  • A. r. rufogularis
  • A. r. angolensis
  • A. r. brauni
  • A. r. argenteus
  • A. r. nigrescens
  • A. r. kigezi

Habitat

Forest.

Behaviour

Tends to stay well hidden.
