- Anas fulvigula
Identification
55 cm. Dark body, lighter head and neck, orange legs and dark eyes, shiny green-blue wing patch. Male and female are similar, but male's bill is bright yellow, whereas female's has a greenish yellow hue.
Distribution
Gulf of Mexico and Florida.
Taxonomy
Habitat
Coastal marshes.
Behaviour
Diet includes plants, some molluscs and aquatic insects.
The nest is built on the ground amongst vegetation.
