Tangara cayana

Identification

Opalescent buff body, soft turquoise wings and tail, black mask and throat, coppery crown.

Distribution

South America.

Taxonomy

There are 7 subspecies.

The subspecies are divided into two groups: the cayana group found in Venezuela and Colombia, and the flava group found in south and east Brazil.

Habitat

Savannas, gallery woodland and forest borders.
