Identification
Male - iridescent green above, golden flashes, purple underparts, white above legs, long tail streamers ending in blue spoon shaped rackets, long pointed bill, dark iris.
Distribution
Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Eucador along the mountains.
Taxonomy
Eight subspecies are recognized, underwoodii, polystictus, discifer, addae, incommodus, annae, peruanus, and melanantherus.
Habitat
Rainforest.
