Menorca, 20 km north of the airport, close (less than 2km) to Addia salinas, also 10 mins from Es Grau, 40 mins from Son Bou. Whilst not a birding trip I will be taking scope and bins, well you never know what might turn up.Anywhere nice Keith?
.
Got my vote - you are well ahead at the minute! :t:

Almost overhead I believe... by this time tomorrow we should be somewhere over the Spanish mainland.Nice, are the Egyptian vultures close by?
Thanks guy's, much appreciated, I was at 47% for 2 weeks and have slipped 3% to the purple flower in just over 24hours, a programmer friend thinks there might be some vote ramping going on, just over a week to go now, only time will tell.
Don't forget the next competition is "animal portraits" entry is free and you could be in the running for a new printer too.
How is the short list decided?
Back to Old Moor again today and there was the normal stuff as per previous reports but the definite highlight of the day was an Osprey cruising lazily over the Wader Scrape hide at around 4:20 this afternoon.
All the credit has to go out to the guys on the 'walkie talkies' who spotted it over Broomhill Flash and gave us a running commentary from Broomhill Flash until it passed over us.
Knowing it was on its way was obviously a great help for us 'newbies' in the hide.
For a newcomer to birding this was the absolute highlight of my short career!!
Well done, but a very big damn you! I'm cheating by going to Rutland Water later in the week... You watch, the last one will have gone the day before!
Headed to Sammy's Point. 1 fem Redstart, 3 Spot Fly and usual warblers. Spent a while getting shots of the Flycatchers. Curlew Sand feeding quite close in, but flushed it when I went in for a shot. Typical photographer Migrant Hawker and Ruddy Darter and another Brown Argus for Mr Flowers to send off for ID :t:
