In Tambapata in Peru I heard a dog... high in the canopy of a rainforest! Obviously this was no dog, but instead a Crested Oropendola, surely one of the most amazing singers of the world.
But here goes: Why do birds mimic (other birds and sometimes even human sounds)? Has it been shown to have any importance in the chance of mating? - Or is it just "for the fun of it"?
