Which Vidua species? SLNP, Zambia (1 Viewer)

We encountered a large group of these finches in the central SLNP area in an open area. I'm a bit confused by the buff suffision of the breast and the overall strong colouration. I suspect Eastern paradise whydah on behalf of the black double-cresent marking on the ear coverts.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Never been to Zambia but my first impression was that it reminded me of one of the more southerly buntings, given the very clear headstripes. However, having had a look at a field guide, your call is much better for throat/breast etc so I'd go with Eastern paradise whydah.

Thanks for the reply @lockbreeze926 there were a few (adult) Cinnamon breasted bunting feeding nearby which confused me initially, as you mention the bold headstripes also put me in mind of an Emberizidae.
