Founded in 1919 as a company specializing in microscopes and thermometers, OM System is selling branded, heat-and-serve Japanese curry packets among other assorted goods.🤣
Even OM Digital Solutions, the former imaging division of Olympus, which is now a subsidiary, is a producer of opto-digital products. So this foray into the realm of general stores (think Wallies) is weird to say the least. YMMV, just like Mr. Schneider's obviously does.

Is it really the same company ?

In Romania there is a greek company called Olympus which was selling yogurt and cheese. And probably this company sels also in Greece and maybe other EU countries.
A few years ago, the guys from Olympus Romania (photo company) were very frustrated because of this cheese-company.
