Hi All,

At first I thought this was a Common Sandpiper, but looking in my ID guide (collins p144), the pattern on the back looks wrong for common plus white eye stripe which may point to Wood.

It was taken on saltmarsh in south Essex UK last week.

What do you guys think??

All comments welcome

What a great picture, I wish I could do that!

I would be interested to know what equipment you have to get a pic like that (sorry if this is not the thread to ask this question, I am a novice here, birding and cameras!!)

Thanks.

Hi Linwolf,

The image was taken from a hide using a ground plate with Wimberley head, attached to a Canon EOS 1D MKII and a Canon 600mm f4 lens and 1.4x converter.

Thanks for yor comments

Regards

Rob
