What bird makes this sound? (1 Viewer)

I do not know much about birds, I’m not a birdwatcher and don’t think I’ll ever become one. However, could someone tell me what bird makes this sound please? I’ve searched online and cannot find one that sounds even closely similar. If anyone could help, it would finally put my mind at ease. Apologies for the sound quality. I recorded this as a video on my phone, as it was the only way I knew how to, to be able to upload a sound recording.

welcome to birdforum! I agree with Ken and certainly you about the prevalent artificial sounds in your video. I think you mean the faint (distant?) calls at about 0:08 , 0,10 sec and further one, some kind of a short, harsh "dschüb". Its hard to be sure, but my gut feeling is Common Snipe. Please compare to this recording, Liam: XC637618 Common Snipe (Gallinago gallinago)
They are extremly difficult to hear, but they are there. I am not more experienced then you, Ken, but I assume I have the better equipment.

Yes Jeff, I considered this to, but the begging call of Tawny Owl is often more melodious, seems two toned and lacks the harsh, raspling quality I hear from this.
But reconsidering it, this might well be explained by recording, I had to put the volume up to maximum, and it was still difficult to hear. So it migt well be a Tawny Owl plus the equipment I used. Or the recording is good and its a Common Snipe.

Maybe you can tell us, in which habitat you recorded it? Or was it from a flying bird?
