I don't think there is much in the way of current maps beyond what the Trust has put on the most recent signage on the reserve.Just a quick one I wonder if someone can help. I would like a map of ALL the areas around both the Flashes and Moor's pools please a map with the areas named would be great. Thank you in advance.
That was lifted from one of the double year annual reports from the early 1990s - think Stuart Croft was the illustrator?I don't think there is much in the way of current maps beyond what the Trust has put on the most recent signage on the reserve.
The most recent one I have is the one in the 40th Anniversary publication, which I've attached below.
Swampy Bottom, Montys Bush, Transmitter Field, A38 field, The Saucer, East Island etc etcNeither of these maps gives the majority of the names referred to at times on the various social media platforms or in the hide log books.
Yes, that sort of thing.Swampy Bottom, Montys Bush, Transmitter Field, A38 field, The Saucer, East Island etc etc
Colour ringed Curlew 6N noted again on the reserve today as per Gert.
Colour ringed Curlew with yellow 6N was caught and ringed at Wood Lane NR near Ellesmere, Shropshire on 16th August 2023 and in recent weeks has been near Trimpley Reservoir.
The colour-ringing is part of a project aiming to study the breeding areas, winter destinations and survival rates of Curlews breeding and wintering in Shropshire/Mid Wales. In the last eight years over 500 Curlews have been individually colour-marked with re-sightings in Cornwall, Devon, Pembrokeshire, Cardiganshire, Shropshire, Denbighshire, Carnarfonshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and Lanarkshire as well as Counties Cork, Galway, Waterford, Wicklow and Wexford in the Republic of Ireland, Jersey, France, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Finland!
