Frustrating and why I’ve signed up to Twitter again although how long I’ll put up with the rubbish on there I don’t know! Just no other way to get ‘live’ bird news. I’m afraid it’s highly unlikely regulars will use this forum as the main form of putting news out again. Fair play to Phil for posting updates here and I’ll try and do the same. Until there’s a feasible Twitter alternative I suspect it will be the main forum Birders will continue to use going forward
I am only posting "headline" birds rather than full reports from back in the heyday and as I am now visiting no more than once a year it is likely that my affinity to UW will further slip away; as referenced by Keith populating sightings on the "West Midlands Birding" Facebook site takes up a good slice of any free time I have. I hope that collectively the forum continues to be a valuable source of information.

Moors early am. 2 Common Sandpiper & 2 Little Ringed Plover. A Male Redstart showing on & off by gate & A38 field area to west track. Up to 5 Willow Warbler, Yellow Wagtail, 2 Whitethroat & Lesser Whitethroat calling. Poss Garden Warbler in sub song but not seen.

I have said many times I cannot hear most bird calls/songs but yesterday (23/4/23) on the causeway at the Moors I got the tail end of what I believe to be a Grasshopper Warbler very close in the reeds....I told a chap who came along and he said someone said there was one around.

It was Keith. I picked it up at 5.45 am near Arthur’s Bench but it moved nearer to the car park later. Not present today unfortunately
