tube feeders, blue jays and cardinals? (1 Viewer)

i have a droll yankees tube feeder that i just put out. its filled with a nut n' berry mix that i knowt he cardinals and blue jays love.
i used to feed this mix in a platform feeder but i had to remove this feeder for reasons.
so now i have the same nut n' berry mix in a tube feeder but the cardinals and blue jays havent used it yet.
im wondering if they are capable or if they cant use tube feeders?? the feeder does have perches, but maybe too small for a blue jay?
has anyone ever had a blue jay and cardinal at their tube feeder?
the only landing area are the perches there is no tray or anything like that

ahhh..very hard trying to pick which birds i want at the feeders lol
i will have to continue feeding them on the platform feeder then. i'll feed less maybe that will drive the bigger birds away
:)

A friend of mine in Massachusetts uses a Yankee Droll and the Cardinals love it. Blue Jays might be a bit big.

I find that it's more about head size than anything. Most birds can figure out how to use almost any feeder, but if their heads are too big for the squirrel-proof grids, they're out of luck, and that's sad, cos then you're feeding house sparrows, and who wants to feed them?? (I've seen DY knockoffs at Ocean State Job Lot at a great price. I didn't catch your location, but check it out if you have them in your area.)
