Had a sighting near Sarehole Mill today

It was the other end by the car ford. Was perched on a tree by the side of the river then flew over the ford and under the pedestrian bridge!

River was very low - less than 50cm on the ford marker. Wondered if this will change the habit of the kingfishers?

Over the weekend the Kingfisher flying up and down the River Cole. Good to see!

I've been at the River Cole at first light and the Kingfisher has a wash. Saturday morning it was great to watch;

River Cole this morning; 6AM. I saw an adult Kingfisher with a fish. I saw a flash of blue go past. I thought not much was happening and I'd leave them to it. Walked around the corner and there were 3 Kingfisher fledglings, sat bobbing away. Looked closer the other way and there were another 2 bobbing away. 5 Kingfisher fledglings! Great!

It took me two long but enjoyable walks to find one.
Greet Mill meadows to Scribbers lane.
Juvenile Kingfisher down from Trittiford.
A calling adult along the back of Trittiford.
Same as on the River Rea, a Chiffchaff calling.
Not heard one for sometime.

Saturday; calling Kingfisher along the River Cole by Trittiford. It sat in the same tree as the previous weeks juvenile. Maybe the juvenile has been chased away? Then yesterday, 2 Kingfisher calling. Obviously adults. Maybe a late pair?

I found several small, KF sized fish on a slow bend.

Birdguides reporting a Great Egret yesterday at lunchtime.

We walked the area about half one - saw 3 little but no great white

Great walk today - no great white but highlights were.

Shoveler, pair gosander and two great kingfisher sightings. Light was not good for photos unfortunately!
