Strait of Gibraltar bird sightings 2015 (1 Viewer)

Thought id open this thread for all bird sightings for this current year.

Notably, a Lesser Spotted Eagle wintering in the La Janda area together with the usual Crane, Spanish Imperial Eagle, Bonelli's Eagle, Pallid Harrier, Richard's Pipit, Bluethroat, Penduline Tit amongst the other usual wintering birds.

White storks have been arriving this morning in very small numbers near Tarifa.

My first raptor crossing the Strait this year seen this morning - possibly a black kite.

Thats great, I had a Griffon Vulture arriving from the Strait over Gibraltar today.

First Black Kite seen over Gibraltar on the 21st

At least 6 black kites crossed the Strait today despite strong NW winds.

We saw a few Swallows heading North over La Janda last Friday (23rd) I suppose they had come across that day.
