Steiner Military+Marine 7x50 (2 Viewers)

I am an engineer. I know when I am speaking to someone about a technical issue and when that person does not have a clue. The person I talked to took forever to get the answer and was digging through paperwork to find it. Lots of "ums", "wait", and "I think" statements. He had no comprehensive knowledge of the products. I can also tell when someone is guessing. I could hear it in his voice. He didn't know anything about nitrogen purging.

I have been in technology 35 years. My impressions are rock solid. The guy knew next to nothing about Steiner binoculars.

Critical thinking is a lost art. The entire world just failed a critical thinking test. They were told by the "experts" to take a deadly vaccine rushed to market. It wasn't actually a vaccine and it didn't work. More importantly, it is a death shot killing and damaging millions of people. The world trusted the experts and did not think for themselves.
Uh oh.

The Steiner homepage claims 16ft. for the water resistance. I guess this is the same model, right?:

Unfortunately those seem to no longer be sold on the German Steiner homepage. Strange that they have more models on the US website. On the other hand -- I have more than enough 7x50s.
I think my 8x30 "Military" should get a service though. What I thought was field curvature seems to actually be some grease or haze on the optics. D'oh!

Correct. That is the Military M750r, A whole step above the MM. Much more expensive.
Looks like the 7x50 MM #2038 is a discontinued model. If the specs for this model are correct having a FOV of 302yds at 1000 ft seems very, very wide for any porro, and a close focus of 65 ft seems ridiculous. On the attached Steiner page the specs say it is not nitrogen filled, but in the questions and answers they say it is. Somewhat confusing.

I noticed the crazy FOV giving a simple AFOV of about 360 degrees, or at least nearly 180 degrees.

So, I don't take waterproof claims seriously unless confirmed.

B.

What makes you say its discontinued? It's still shows available.

Just an assumption on my part since it no longer appears in their online catalog on either the US or German sites,

You just have to dig a little to find it. This is a screen grab I just took, and they don't look too discontinued to me.

Can be really confusing when a company makes so many models that virtually look the same.
It is indeed really confusing. While looking at their website, since many models are very similar-looking, I find it difficult to know how they organize their ranges/levels of performance. If you take Zeiss, for example, you can see that Terra is entry level (inexpensive), Conquest HD is medium and SF is top of the range (with the SFL now sitting in between the last two). You can see that the "looks" of the binoculars is distinctly different. But with Steiner is a bit confusing. As I mentioned earlier, I had the Navigator model, which shares a similar price bracket with the MM and I remember it was a disappointment. I've just checked Allbinos and to my surprise they also found it was a bit lacking for a device in the 300-400 $ range:

I wonder how mucho of the Navigator does the MM share at a similar price point.

The Navigator has been redesigned, and has an open bridge design.
