Sparrow or finch? (1 Viewer)

At first I thought this was a house finch, but then the light pink feet suggested otherwise (some sparrow possibly). I can't find any exact matches in my Sibley, so was wondering if anyone had a clue.

Thanks in advance. ^_^

It's a House Finch or a related species. Bill is too heavy for House Sparrow (also for any American "sparrow" species AFAIK), and the colour is wrong. Also the upper mandible is curved in a way you wouldn't find in House Sparrows.

It would be better though if you included country and state of your sighting in the thread title.

Sorry, I saw the bird in Maryland USA (figured Location by username was for that, and just now noticed the Sticky topic, woops).

I was pretty sure it was a House Finch as well, I've just never seen one with such light colored feet. Could be a juvenile or something though. Thanks for the response. =]
