My wifes 8x32 ELs are due to arrive back Monday. I recently purchased a set of 8x32 EL SV FP 2018 Hers are 2010. We're both very interested to use them side by side.
She will chose which ever one that She likes better. I won't decide what to do with the others until we've both thoroughly worked both over.

Well they were delivered this morning. Nice day but to cold to sit on the deck. I spent some time with both from in the house, I know not the best. We are supposed to have some 70degree weather later in the week. I'll spend some time and so will the wife.
We are not in a hurry but today I found it hard to see much difference.
I'm color blind and on a number of meds recovering from open heart surgery. It is going to be fun, we have a lot of country to look at and many birds and other wildlife. Wife has feeders one thar send her phone videos. She also has the apps that identify by pictures and sounds. It's great as she is really into it.

This project is going to be more difficult than I thought. The 8x32 ELs are great and the ergos are better for me than the SV FP. 2 Bald Eagles put on a lovely show for us this afternoon. It was very nice to sit outside without a jacket. As it stands right now I won't sell either.

Smart move holding onto the old pair. I've own and heavily used a beater pair of 8x32s Els (bought new in 2003). For about the last 15 years, all I've done is carefully clean the lenses, but the binos haven't been in a case and neither have I used lens caps -- during this period they have resided in my car's console. They still are optically excellent and are always at the ready whenever and wherever I drive.

Sure, I "baby" my newer Swaros, especially the NLs, but my old ELs were paid for more than 20 years ago. An optically superb beater pair, in my view, is priceless.

Is it okay to ask where you are?

Glendive in Eastern Montana on the Yellowstone river.

Thanks, just curious.
Very new here but really enjoying reading all the old treads and the new. I've been a fan of high end optics for almost 20 years. I've owned multiple sets from the big 3. Present project is typical of me. I will enjoy it and will gladly accept whatever my wife decides. I'm just happy she enjoys this hobby. We are blessed to have incredible viewing right off our deck.

At this time of year the birds get mad and yell at us when we're on the deck, Later when they get used to us they ignore us. Our residdent squirrel even puts up with us, although he doesn't like the terrier so much. The wife and I talked about the 8x32s tonight and at this point she can't chose either. I told her not to stress as I don't plan to sell either. We don't need both as we have a number of other sets. But both are really nice.

I'm pretty inept at that kind of thing. I've never been able to post pics on any forum. When I get back from the hospital next week I'll see if my grandson can do it.
