Hello all,

Recently I was observing snow geese and this little fella stood out from the rest. Is it possible that it's a Ross Goose?

Your help is appreciated.

It could be a Ross goose , but maybe also a hybrid Ross x Snow ?
do you have more photos?

I think these two can be close:

Phenotypical Ross goose , especially juveniles /1st winter, can also have darkened mandible edges visible in the weak grinning patch in my experience,, but not as dark and pronounced as snow goose

hybrids can look like these adults:

These are also a bit extreme so that one could alsk if they have some snow goose genes in them

Looks good for a Ross's x Snow Goose hybrid to me - the bill shape and feathering at the base of the bill appear intermediate between the two.
