Roamwild pest off feeder - no feeding (1 Viewer)

I have had a Roamwild pest off bird feeder for some time now. No birds are feeding. The smaller birds do land on the 2 perches but almost immediately fly off again. The design is a perch that, if a higher weight is applied, it closes the feeder hole. I have no reason to believe the smaller birds, particularly sparrows, are too heavy but am wondering if the length of perch plus the requirement for the bird to be side on to the feeder, are an issue. Any ideas?

Welcome to Birdforum. I hope you enjoy your visits.

It may well be that once the smaller birds land on the perch, they cannot reach the feeding port. It might be an idea to contact the manufacturers?

I have got the same feeder and birds love it I use sunflower hearts , I get a lot of Finches & occasional Siskin but it does get empty fast. I ordered one to put fatballs but the birds never took to it fatballs were left untouched for months and yesterday I decided to take it down and put my old fatball feeder back up.

Sorry, no solution. I am having the same problem. The Roamwild feeder isn’t used but my other feeders are quickly emptied. I will try just sunflower hearts and see what happens. We get sparrows and blue tits - surely they can’t be too heavy.

I have recently purchased the feeder and the birds are not using it. My old feeder has emptied in no time at all. R the seed feeder and the one for nuts and worms the same if not what is the difference?
