Please may I request help with id of the bird in the attached photographs. Any comments or advice would be most gratefully received.
I did previously post this bird quite a long time ago. I apologize if its unethical. I think the outcome then was inconclusive.
I am not sure whether the apparent wing-bar is a light artifact or not (I used a bridge camera-hence the low quality of image). However both photos show the apparent wing bar which makes me think it might not be a light artifact.

Thank you so much

Hello Earnest,

its a Willow Warbler. Leg-colouration is perfect as is 'Wood Warbler look alike' impression. But a Wood Warbler has a longer pp
I agree with Alexander - it is a willow warbler, with the second image being perhaps a bit more instructive. Of course, wood warbler can frequently show pale legs...
Historical context in the form of previous discussion (and consensus) here.

The wingbars of Phylloscopus warblers are formed by pale tips to the greater and sometimes median coverts and show as narrow pale lines against a darker background - pretty much the reverse of what we see in this picture.
Thank you for explaining this helpful anatomical detail. I had the faint and forlorn hope that I had a mega here!

Here’s a Wood Warbler Earnest Lad, note the longer pp also the equally arresting head pattern, also what I refer to as the apple green upperparts v the yellow bib, against the contrasting white unders.👍
