Replacement plastic tubes for seed feeders (2 Viewers)

Hello all,

I hope you are well, wherever you are :)

I while ago @CleverCookie asked: "I was hoping someone can help with this. Has anyone found a source of replacement (polycarbonate?) plastic tubes which are typical in many bird feeders? I'm tired of throwing away whole, perfectly usable feeders just because the tube has become brittle and cracked. Even the Droll Yankee guarantee seems unfeasibly difficult to navigate (and can anyone ever find a receipt three years later?). I'm quite happy to pay a reasonable price, but just can't find any! I know I can't be the only one with this gripe and look forward to some solutions from all you wonderful and knowledgeable people.

I am now thinking about this. I have multiple parts but yet another tube has broken. I wonder if anyone can help? I am in the UK.

Many thanks and best wishes for the day
Kj

Thank you @moose1991 I wil have a look. I was hoping to find them with holes. Not sure my drilling skills are up to plastic tube - but perhaps I can learn :)
Best wishes

Hold a nail with some pliers - heat the tip and make prefereably a starter hole or at least a decent 'dip'. Use good quality drill bits!

I think you'd need to use a forstner bit in a press, and drill thru to produce the mirror image holes on both sides.. How to hold it in place, probably would require a jig of some sort. I know you'd need slower speeds to prevent melting of the plastic.. That's all I have. Maddening that Droll Yankees can't supply parts.. Yankees don't throw things out. We fix them!
